We chatted to Su Grainger about what she does and how Signature Works fits into her business.
Tell us a little bit about yourself?
My name’s Su Grainger and I run Vocal Power Training and it’s a company where I run courses and workshops for people who want to communicate a bit more effectively, who to learn about how the voice works and become a bit more confident with their communication skills.
How long have you been doing that for?
I’ve been running choirs and I’ve been a singer and a performer for over 11 years but I’ve just started Vocal Power Training and that’s an off-shoot of what I’ve been doing for the last 11 years. I’ve trained as a vocal coach and I’m those skills onto people now.
How did you get into this?
I got into doing it by doing it myself for the last 11 years, I’ve been performing and singing and teaching and Vocal Power Training became and offshoot as I found many of the people that I was meeting in networking meetings or people that had their own business, their biggest problem was that they didn’t want to talk about themselves, some were scared to go to network meeting, some were scared to stand-up and give that presentation and so I developed Vocal Power Training to help them with that!
What made you chose Signature Works?
I chose Signature Works because, I’d actually attended some networking events and business meetings here and I just connected with it, I connected with the people here, there are a lot of people here who are very enthusiastic about their business, but not just that but about sharing their ideas with other people as well and it’s just a great place to work and it feels right to be here.
Have you had a chance to interact with the other coworkers?
I’ve meet quite a few of the other coworkers so far and as I said, it’s great that we’ve all been able to swap business ideas. It doesn’t matter what type of business each of us has, everyone is talking about how they can move forward and how they can connect and I’ve found that you meet somebody and they say ‘I can connect you with somebody else!’ and I can do that with them as well, so it’s been great.
Would you recommend Signature Works to anyone else?
I would recommend Signature Works to anyone who is starting up in business, maybe they have a business but they’re working at home or they might come into town to work in a café but this is the best place to be and I think for the value for money that you get for being here, it’s so worth it.
